Prior to this meeting, we will request a few additional details about your financial life. From a 10,000 foot view we will look at where you are and how we can help you get to where you want to go.

3) Sleep on it!

This is a huge decision. We don't let you make any decisions until you review the information covered in the strategy session. If we agree on the strategy, we will take the next steps!

Phase 1 Planning

Building & implementing your plan

After becoming a client, we have a 4-step approach that kicks off the relationship. We start with getting organized and throughout the first few months, we begin our in-depth financial planning process.

  • Meeting #1
    Organization & goals meeting

    In this meeting, we'll start with the basics. This includes getting documents organized and filed, reviewing goals, and setting a direction for the upcoming months.

  • Meeting #2
    Cash flow & taxes

    In this meeting, we start diving into the heart of financial planning - cash flow & taxes. We'll review income & spending while evaluating tax saving opportunities.

  • Meeting #2.5
    Business/equity comp planning

    In this meeting, depending on the type of income you receive, we'll review your compensation and create a plan to use every dollar effectively.

  • Meeting #3
    Investments

    In this meeting, we review current investments and create a framework to manage investments moving forward. Where necessary, we'll also help open & fund the appropriate accounts.

  • Meeting #4
    Insurance & estate planning

    At the tail end of our initial planning sessions, we take some time to make sure that you and your family are protected with proper insurance and estate planning documents.

  • Included: Ongoing accountability to ensure plan implementation. Additional meetings may be added based on complexity or need.
